The Megger® SCT100 Premise Wiring Tester checks and verifies UTP and STP patch cables and installed networks, providing simple and instant results via LED indicators. The product consists of a main and remote unit, both of which indicate shorts, opens, pair reversals and other mis-wires on 2,3, and 4 pair structured wiring systems in accordance with TIA568A/B, ISO11801, EN50173 and USOC standards.

The appropriate remote unit LED is not lit
Reversed Pair
The appropriate remote LED flashed red
Transposed Pair
The appropriate LED's flash out of sequence
Short between Pairs
Simultaneous flashing of 2 green LED's
Short between Pairs
The same LED flashed green more than once
Correct wiring or wire map leads to the following indication of the SCT100 display
For UTP Cables
A sequence of 4 green flashing LED's on main and remote units
For STP Cables
A sequence of 5 green flashing LED's on main and remote units
Low Battery
A red "low bat" LED is lit when the instrument battery needs replacement
