DEscRIPTION The Model 205 is a protable, hand-held digital vibration meter that measures machinery vibration. It is used to measure vibration on all types of rotating machinery including fans, motors, pumps, compressors as well as many other types of industrial machines.
The Model 205 features a standard 100mV/g accelerometer that allows operators to read measurements in displaceme nt (mils), velocity (ips) and acceleration (g's)/ The rugged, high-impact polystyrene case is light weight and easy to carry. Color-coded pushbuttons select displacement, velocity and acceleration measurements. It operates on 4 AA size alkaline batteries with a self diagnostic "low battery" condition signal. The large 3/4" character, digital display is easy to read.
The Model 205 has an audio output jack and optional headphones(electronic stethoscope) to allow an operator to listen to the vibration signal to aid in determining the source of vibration.

Model 205 features large LCD display, color-coded pushbutton operation and light-weight portability. | Studies show most rotating machinery failures are preceded by a rise in vibration levels. Excessive vibration results in bad bearings, cracks in pipes and foundations, broken mounting bolts, misalignment and unbalance. Even more serious, an entire HVAC system, production line, or pumping operation could be shut down due to individual piece of equipment failing.
Periodically measuring and recording vibration data in rotating machinery reveals trends and increased vibration levels. Analyzing this data assists operators to schedule maintenance. Minor, less costly problems are corrected before they become expensive faliures.
Vibration monitoring is useful in all types of industrial applications including manufacturing, commercial buildings, processing plants, pumping operations, automotive assembly, power generation, engineering and marine operations. |
