Periodic resistance testing of electrical windings can detect deterioration
High Accuracy 5000 V Analyzer
Periodic resistance testing of electrical windings can detect deterioration or contamination in the insulation which could shorten winding life. This testing is recommended to prevent major failures and to determine when corrective action should be taken.
We offer a triple mode insulation analyzer. The unit can be operated as a conventional megohmmeter or, in its automatic mode, as a polarization index (PI) test set and a dielectric absorption ratio tester. This test set supplies up to 5 kVDC and performs all necessary steps to determine the polarization index and dielectric absorption ratio. Results of the tests are printed out for record-keeping purposes. This feature aids in identifying possible trends that would reveal the gradual deterioration of the insulation.
The PM-5A incorporates a state-of-the-art switching power supply which provides an output with ripple less than 0.05%, and additionally, insures voltage and current regulation of better than ¡¾0.005%. This feature provides the benefit of the highest possible accuracy even when reading at the low end of the resistance range.
