The Mainstream III is an area-velocity open channel meter suitable for any application containing bubbles or suspended solids. The velocity sensor detects liquid speed via a proprietary enhanced phase coherence processing sensor. At the same time, the integrated level transmitter provides its signal to combine with channel or pipe cross sectional area. The three calculations are continuously updated providing real time flow, level and total discharge.
Systems do not have to meet the standard Parshall or Venturi type power laws for accurate flow rate measurement, since the Mainstream III measures velocity in addition to height to calculate the flow rate. The Mainstream III features a streamlined velocity sensor to eliminate fouling and reduce flow disturbances. Four isolated analog outputs, and two contact outputs for control or high/low alarms are included as standard options.
Other features include: zero offset or drift velocity measurement, RS232 and modem communications for remote stationing, and an integrated 250,000 point data logger. The Mainstream III can be utilized in such applications as irrigation channels, effluent monitoring, waste water treatment and industrial discharge measurement.
