These two MEGGER 60 kV portable oil test sets are designed for determining the dielectric strength of insulating oils in transformer, switchgear, and other electrical apparatus. Oil degradation takes place due to oxidation, acids, sludge, gas, and water absorption. These processes change the electrical properties of the oil which can be seen from a dielectric strength test. The microprocessor controlled oil test sets apply voltage to a sample of the insulating oil being tested and then record the breakdown voltage (if breakdown occurs). Alternatively, the instruments can be used to perform withstand tests.
Automatic Oil Test Set
Model BD121145 reduces the operator’s tasks to preparing and loading the oil sample into the test chamber and initiating the required test sequence. On completion, the mean value of the tests in sequence is given and the value of each individual test may be recalled.
Semi Automatic Oil Test Set
Model BD121146 is a lightweight, semi automatic, oil dielectric strength test set that is suitable for field use and can be powered from a range of mains supplies. A selection of vessels, with test electrodes (sold separately) based on ASTM procedures, allows the instrument to be configured for a variety of test standards. |
